Who We Are

Suki MierzejewskiSuki thanks her parents for the gift of yoga as a young child. She learned from them about our profound relationship with nature, and the power of our embodiment. Upon completing a Level I teacher training with Noah Maze and Naime Jezzeny in 2005, she began teaching Anusara Inspired classes in Taos. Encouraged by the blossoming delight she experiences in the every day, she continues to share the possibility of more joy with her students. She has completed an Anusara Level II Teacher Training and Advanced Therapeutics with John Friend and continues to study with her other generous teachers including Karen Dalury, Darren Rhodes, Desiree Rumbaugh, Genevieve Oswald, and so many more. The Anusara method heartens Suki to uphold the most basic of tenets; respect for everyone’s potential as we are all ultimately graced with Shree. She lives with her lovely family in Taos and enjoys playing in the dirt. LEVEL I, YOGA HOUR, FLOW WITH GRACE, LEVEL II

Genevieve Oswald- Genevieve is proof that yoga will change your life. Genevieve sustained a serious break in her lumbar vertebrae when she was fifteen, which required her to learn to walk again, and put an end to her aspirations as a professional athlete. It was not until she started practicing Yoga in 2005 that she regained the physical prowess she had once taken for granted. Though Genevieve’s back will always be fused she is forever excited about her unlimited potential on and off the mat. With the completion of her first teacher training in Anusara Yoga in 2009, Genevieve is excited to share her knowledge of Yoga with her students on their journeys to wholeness. As one of the proud owners of Shree Yoga Taos, and an Anusara Inspired yoga instructor, Genevieve invites you to join us as we continue to grow and expand and have tons of fun. LEVEL I, GENTLE FLOW, YOGA HOUR, LEVEL II, THE PRACTICE

Ashleigh Beyer - Born in Denver, Ashleigh is excited to come to Taos by way of Boston, Chicago and most recently, Brooklyn, where she had been teaching yoga full time for the past four and a half years.  Ashleigh found yoga seriously in 2001 after sustaining a lower back injury and finally got the guts to complete her teacher training in 2007 at the Laughing Lotus College of Yoga.  Ashleigh has been fascinated to watch how yoga has changed for her over the years.  At first, Ashleigh was only interested in the therapeutic aspects of the practice, and once healed, she only wanted to answer to the call of the flow.  More recently, she has been re-inspired by The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the practice of seated meditation.  Ashleigh’s classes are a healing, playful and challenging roadmap to letting go. She is grateful to the teacher in everything.  ALL LEVELS FLOW

GENTLE FLOW, PRENATAL YOGA

Brigita Lacovara - Brigita grew up very active, playing soccer and running.  She played collegiate soccer and has recovered from many injuries, including four knee surgeries.  Having done yoga on and off since college, she found freedom with her introduction to Anusara Yoga.  Since that time, she has had a steady practice, constantly diving in to learn more, building on her understanding of biomechanics, anatomy and grace.  She brings passion and enthusiasm to her class with an eagerness to share the joy!  LEVEL I

Liz Passman - Liz began practicing yoga in 2004 while a sophomore in college.  This once a week practice on campus began to slowly change her mind and body. Since then, yoga has become one of the centerpieces of Liz's life. This past summer Liz ventured back to Asheville, NC, where she took that first yoga class, and studied with Stephanie Keach at the Asheville Yoga Center for her yoga teacher training. Liz fuses her practice of many different schools of yoga to create a dynamic flow in her classes that is equally challenging and restorative. ALL LEVELS FLOW, KIDS YOGA
